The United States of America (also known as the United States or America, or shortened to the USA or US) is one of three subfactions of the Allied Nations.
Official description[]
The United States wield potent laser technology with which they vanquish their foes, culminating in their ultimate weapon: a satellite network known as the ‘Mercury’ ,which can fire devastating laser beam strikes anywhere on Earth. Their use of such mighty precision weaponry has bled through into their entire war doctrine, making use of quick strikes with their blindingly fast aircraft, well-trained Riot Troopers, advanced laser-wielding tanks and their finest field operative: Special Agent Tanya Adams.
With the invasion of the Soviets, it has become critical for the Americans to be able to rapidly deploy their forces in any location. The deployment of troops and combat vehicles via paradrops supported by a Black Widow Alpha is a common tactic used to quickly reinforce a region or surprise an unsuspecting enemy. Unfortunately for the Americans, the unexpected Soviet attack resulted in subsequent termination of many experimental U.S. military projects, which were either lost in battle, or stolen by deceptive third parties.[1]
History[]
Second Great War[]
During the Second Great War, the United States initially sat out the conflict and only provided material aid to the Europeans, but later intervened on the side of the Allied Nations, as the Soviet Union's wanton use of nuclear weapons drew the concern of the Americans. The famous U.S General, Benjamin Carville, would serve in this war.
After the defeat of the Soviet Union and the disappearance of Joseph Stalin, American forces occupied Russia and facilitated the USSR's disarmament (including their nuclear weapons, nerve gas weapons and airforce). To this end, they installed a puppet premier, Alexander Romanov, to stabilize the country.
Post Second Great War[]
Sometime around the 1970s, the Americans were engaged in a conflict known as the "American Crusade", which had ended with the victory of US forces against an unidentified adversary. The success of the conflict appeared to have lulled the United States into a false sense of security, resulting in the neglect of their military, a mistake which would contribute to do their defeat in the Third Great War [2].
In occupied Russia, the enigmatic psychic Yuri was appointed as advisor to Romanov, beginning a rapid deterioration of relations between Russia and the US. As Russian public opinion began to turn, the United States was forced to withdraw occupation forces from the country.
During this period, the Americans attempted to launch a TV satellite as a gesture of goodwill to the Russian people, but unbeknownst to them, PsiCorps agents had smuggled ICBM targeting systems onboard, in order to support the redevelopment of Russian ICBM arsenal.
Third Great War[]
In the year 1982, the newly reformed Soviet Union, comprising of the Russians, the Latin Confederation, and the People's Republic of China (PRC) declare war on the Allied Nations.
In the United States, Russia and Latin Confederation forces advanced from the seas and from the southern border. The Americans attempted to intercept the incoming Russian amphibious forces using their Peacekeeper ICBMs, but were sabotaged by PsiCorps agents. With their forces safely landed on US soil, the Russians attempted to swiftly defeat the United States by launching a decapitation strike on the Pentagon, but were repelled thanks to the leadership of a new American Commander.
Having safeguarded their military leadership, the Americans reorganized their defense by recovering their new Stormchildren jets, repelling a Confederation incursion from the southern border, and re-establishing their naval presence in Florida. Despite this string of victories, the country was still under threat, as the US discovered the existence of Russia's psychic beacon network which would conquer the nation through mind control. Thus, the Americans launched an assault on Chicago in order to destroy the network's key asset, the psychic amplifier.
Although the Americans destroyed the amplifier, their victory was short-lived, as the Russians launched their new MIDAS ICBM and obliterated the US forces committed to Chicago. Worse still, US President Michael Dugan was assassinated and the bulk of the nation's military production facilities at St. Louis fell under the influence of a psychic beacon. These major defeats led to a collapse of effective US military resistance and the dissolution of the United States as a nation-state. This catastrophic outcome prompted the American commander to seek aid from their Europeans and Pacific Front allies.
To secure the Europeans' assistance, the Americans sent strike teams to disable the MIDAS production facilities and destroy several of its TOPOL-M launchers. With the threat of the MIDAS ostensibly gone, the Europeans tasked the Americans with escorting key personnel for SteinsTech's secretive Paradox Project by escorting Kanegawa scientists from Japan and to the United Kingdom.
Although these operations were successful, the Allies were once again deprived of a clean victory, as the Russians still possessed a handful of MIDAS warheads, one of which was used to annihilate SteinsTech's Black Forest lab. The Americans would learn that the Europeans and Pacific Front had exploited the United States to further their own national interests. For example, Americans' operations in Europe were part of an undisclosed gambit by the Europeans to draw out the remaining MIDAS warheads by putting US soldiers in harm's way.
Even early in the Second Great War, the Europeans and Pacific Front had withheld any assistance in the defense of the United States, and instead, established a secret communications post in Canada to steal US technology. The EU and PF had hijacked the Mercury satellite network and directed its orbital laser to defend European territory. Additionally, the Pacific Front had stolen designs for the successor to the US Stratofortress, the Harbinger Gunship, as part of a plan to develop a weapon which would grant the Pacific Front significant political leverage in future Allied leadership negotiations.
Despite these numerous betrayals, the Americans had no choice but to cooperate with the Europeans and Pacific Front on the Paradox Project, as the Europeans and Pacific Front were in retreat having been utterly defeated by Soviet forces.
During the retreat, the US Special Agent Tanya Adams and the European scientist Siegfried assisted in the extraction of sensitive technology from Berlin. While Siegfried successfully escaped, Tanya was captured and interned in a POW camp in Poland.
Interbellum[]
After the end of the Second Great War, the United States ceased to exist and was succeeded by the Soviet States of America (S.S.A). The American military was shattered and its uncoordinated remnants were forced to operate on their own.
In London, the American Commanders' Atlantic Fleet continued to work on the Paradox Project with the European and Pacific Front survivors.
In the SSA, the remaining US forces reformed into several, disparate resistance cells, which attempted to liberate the country from Soviet occupation. One such attack was led by General Carville against the Pentagon in Stalington, but was unsuccessful.
Mental Omega War[]
In 1984, Yuri's Epsilon Army launched a surprise attack on the Soviet empire, decapitating its leadership and throwing the Soviet Union into complete disarray. The Allies detected the chaos in Soviet communications and enacted their plans to take advantage of the situation. Siegfried donned the first Chrono Legionnaire suit and broke Tanya from her prison in Poland. Meanwhile, General Carville's resistance forces fled to an American stronghold in Point Hope, Alaska in order to escape the Epsilon forces overrunning Stalington.
With the emergence of Epsilon, the Allies were refocus their efforts to counter the threat of Epsilon. The Allies' military in the Mental Omega War was led by the now prominent American commander. The commander led several operations to destroy psychic amplifiers in Rome and Africa, which Epsilon erected in an attempt to conquer the London Fortress from afar. Despite this, Epsilon struck a critical blow against the Allies by deploying their Aerial Fortress Irkalla to raze London, forcing the Allies to prematurely launch their ultimate weapon, the Paradox Engine, to escape their Epsilon pursuers.
The Engine, along with the bulk of London's Allied forces traveled south along the Atlantic and easily leveled Epsilon bases along the way. During this time, US forces were deployed to rescue key personnel involved in the Paradox Project to safeguard its secrets. Additionally, the Paradox Engine evacuated the remnants of the US military in Puerto Rico. These rescued forces would later assist in the destruction of a makeshift nuclear silo, which Epsilon constructed in an attempt to destroy the Paradox Engine. Finally, American forces participated in an operation to secure resources from an oil refining facility.
Later, the Allies learned of Yuri's weapon of global mind control, the Mental Omega Device, and launched an invasion of Antarctica. Although the Allies successfully laid siege to the tower, their path to victory was closed after Epsilon deployed a new psychic supersoldier and launched a counterattack that destroyed many of the Allied forces.
Desperate, the Allies attempted to use the Paradox Engine to seal the Mental Omega Device in a pocket dimension, but failed, resulting the Paradox Engine crashing and killing the American commander onboard. With no other options left, the wreckage of the Paradox Engine along with Tanya Adams and any Allied survivors onboard were chronoshifted to Point Hope, from which they received mysterious communications from secure American channels.
The Remnant[]
Earlier in the Mental Omega War, General Carville's forces had fled to Point Hope, Alaska in order to find respite from their Epsilon pursuers. However, they were eventually defeated and a psychic beacon was erected to enslave the Americans there. Fortunately, an unlikely alliance of various nations opposed to Epsilon, known as the Revolt, had arrived at Alaska in order to distance themselves from the Mental Omega. They destroyed the psychic beacon, thus liberating Carville's forces.
Using the Americans' secure communication channels, the Revolt contacted the Paradox Engine, leading to the Engine's wreckage being chronoshifted to Point Hope. Tanya, General Carville, and any remaining American forces joined the Revolt and successfully erected a time bubble to isolate Point Hope from the outside world.
The American forces at Point Hope would be absorbed into the newly christened Foehn Revolt, with Tanya and Carville serving in the Revolt's leadership, the Foehn Council.

Trivia[]
- As of the current version, United States is the only subfaction that has existed since version 1.2 and never changed name or even flag.
- The said flag is also the only one in the current version that is exactly the same as a flag currently used by a real life country.
