The Tech Time Machine is a neutral structure in version 1.2 and the 2.x series that, when captured by an Engineer, gives its owner access to certain units that are otherwise unobtainable.
This is tech building made really for fun as which of the civilians would build the Time Machine if not Prof. Einstein? Tech Time Machine is available only in skirmish, as in singleplayer mode it has completely different purposes. Capturing this structure, the results will be same as capturing Tech Police Station - you will get access to some additional and useful units by opening a warp portal which will allow you to transport them from different places in time.[1]

Time Machine allows commanders to bring up units from past and future to the war. With this structure captured and powered, you will be able to use Cosmonauts, Scanner drones, Mammoth Tanks from the past and even... T-Rexes! Don't laugh as T-Rexes may be a big trouble for you, if enemy capture this![2]

The Time Machine appears in Fire and Water as an enemy structure that has to be destroyed by the Allied task force.
The Time Machine appears in Jealousy as an enemy structure that has to be destroyed by the Epsilon task force.
Behind the scenes[]
Tech Time Machine was planned to be replaced by a structure called FutureTech Tower in version 3.0.[3] However, it eventually became the SteinsTech Tower, a campaign structure.

The Time Machine's wreckage
Although not present formally, the Time Machine's wreckage appears in a 3.x version Allied mission Hamartia as an easter egg, known as Unknown Object. The same Time Machine wreckage appears during a cutscene in Reality Check.
