A surviving Pacific Front task force in Central America sends an S.O.S. signal, requesting assistance in protecting the device they've been working on, while offering access to a rich array of new technology and arsenal in return. With the Chronosphere, Siegfried's task force arrives to the rescue.
—Mission description

Operation: Stormbringer is the seventh Allied Act Two campaign mission.

Briefing[]

Not long after the full recharge of the Paradox Engine on Tenerife, we received a distress signal from Pacific Front survivors in Central America. A research complex stationed in the Virgin Islands is now under heavy siege from mind-controlled Soviet forces. This site appears to have been developing weather manipulation technology with the help of SteinsTech during the early stages of the war, when plans for their joint venture with Kanegawa Industries have begun to form. Supposedly, the research is ready to be returned to us for use against Yuri's army now that it is complete. However, their defense line is becoming weak, and so they request that we assist them in taking out the hostile forces on the surrounding islands, or else the first fully working Weather Controller will be destroyed - or worse, captured.

While we cannot afford to move the entire Paradox Engine expedition force towards the Virgin Islands, as they're busy destroying Yuri's bases in Africa, Siegfried has elected to send in a strike force, one that consists of himself and you, to take temporary control of the base and defend the device until it is ready to be used. Furthermore, Norio Tomokawa, the hero of the Pacific Front, who has recently arrived there with the remaining survivors from Asia and Australia, has also declared support. On the side, he apologized for the dishonourable actions of his fellow combatants on the American soil in the past.. For now, that will have to do - there are bigger matters at hand.

Objective 1: Protect the Weather Controller.
Objective 2: Destroy the enemy bases.

Events[]

Defending the Weather Controller[]

The Allies only had a few minutes before the invasion force arrived. Not wasting time, the Allies quickly constructed defenses around the Weather Controller. Norio who returned to the Allied side soon arrived to assist the defense, plus some arriving Thor Gunships and Horizon Destroyers at later time. Considering the massive amount of open water surrounding the area, a large naval force was quickly built to counter any submarine attacks, as well as anti-bombardment measures; A considerable amount of ground forces such as Mirage Tanks were deployed in strategic places in order to defend the choke points that led into the Pacific Front base.

The enemy invasion force arrived from the south after several more minutes passed, with sending Kirovs and Akula Missile Subs to destroy the Weather Controller, along with a sizeable Typhoon Submarine force to deal with the Allied fleet guarding the harbor. However, Norio and several Rocketeers managed to destroy the Kirovs and Akula missiles before they could do any damage. After a minute had passed, another attack wave arrived for an amphibious assault.

The hidden Mirages proved useful in attacking the transports before they could hit the beach, drowning all the units that were onboard. Several Wolfhounds soon arrived to deal with the infantry and vehicles guarding the harbor. However, Norio and the Rocketeers, once again, managed to bring them down before any damage could be done. PsiCorps soon got annoyed at the tight defense of the base and launched a Tactical Nuke, obliterating many base defenses and destroying several Pacific Front Power Plants.

The counter-attack[]

After thwarting the initial attack by the invaders, it was far from the end yet. Additional intel showed that the enemies down the south, and require to capture their Palace to coordinate enemy Tactical Nuke Silos. From there, they activated the Weather Controller and wiped out the small garrison force that was present there.

After that, they chronoshifted an MCV, and the Paradox Engine expedition force chronoshifted several Mirage Tanks into the area, stating that the PF commander would resume command of the base. However, in return for defending the Weather Controller, they gave the Commander a new taskforce and training rights of Suppressor, as well as giving him permission to use the Lightning Storm against Soviet positions. They quickly established a base where the small garrison force once stood, as they organized their naval forces to regroup at their new position and strike at the Soviet base.

Not only were mind-controlled Soviets threatened by the newly constructed area, but also some controlled American forces were deployed nearby. The fight was long and heavy, many units were lost in the initial attacks due the mass amounts of defenses and ground forces in the enemy's base. However, the Allies successfully captured the Palace and acquired necessary information.

Attacking the Epsilon base[]

Information obtained indicates that Nuke Silos is located further south on either side of the PsiCorps base, where there is also a Psychic Beacon that controls local Americans and Soviets. The PF Commander had granted the Commander permission to use another Lightning Storm to wreck the enemy defenses before commencing the attack.

The commander managed to destroy the Psychic Beacon set high on the island by PsiCorps, freeing the local Americans and Soviets. The fight was, again, hard and slow. Many units were either lost or mind controlled by PsiCorps forces. The Americans joined the Allies and offered them production rights for the Warhawk, while the Soviets stubbornly fought against both the Allies and the PsiCorps. The Allies prevailed as they were able to successfully fight their way to the Tactical Nuke Silo and destroyed it, preventing any more nuclear strikes against the Weather Controller Finally, they cleared the base of Epsilon forces and the mission was complete.

Aftermath[]

Yuri's and enslaved Soviet forces no longer threaten the Pacific Front resistance in this region, making it a useful support base for us. With the newly acquired technologies we can proceed to effectively destroy Epsilon positions and regain control.
—Battlefield report

Now that the Russian and PsiCorps bases were effectively wiped off the face of the map, the Pacific Front base guarding the Weather Controller had finally been secured. Using this support base, the Allies could now regroup and rebuild their forces. With the newly acquired technologies in hand, they could now proceed to take back the planet from both Soviet and Epsilon control.

Despite the success of the defense, intelligence soon came in detailing the presence of a Psychic Amplifier along with two Tactical Nuke Silos in South America. Considering the threat it posed to the Weather Controller and the Paradox Engine, a desperate assault against it was immediately ordered before it could come online...
