The Spy Satellite Uplink is an Allied structure that grants the owner a full battlefield view in the 2.x series. However, should the structure is destroyed, its (previous) owner will completely lose their view of the battlefield except of their own forces, so commanders would do well to protect it.

In the 3.x series, this building is removed and its sprite is recycled into Mercury Network Uplink.

Official description

Critical situation always brings some radical decisions of the victims. As Spy Satelitte Uplink was one of primary Allied tactical structures, they couldn't just remove it from active establishment. This buildings are now much more expensive though, and require bigger amount of power to work - it also doesn't cover radar uplink anymore. Noneless, Allies still have most effective communication systems.
