Version 2.x[]
In the second iteration of Mental Omega, the Soviet faction is referred to as the Soviet Alliance, and it is separated into 5 subfactions.
Official description[]
Soviets had finally managed to achieve their primary goal - Premier Romanov's army took over the world and defeated the Allies thanks to the informations[sic] received from that worse future. Warned about the Chrono Sphere, he didn't "repeat" the same mistake and his forces took the device out before it was activated. The Allies surrended[sic] soon after the assault on the Black Forest. Yuri did not remain a threat any longer - his army was also defeated and though Yuri stole the Time Machine from San Francisco, he was trapped in time due to overcharge of the device. Or was he?
During the year between the second Great War and the Mental Omega war, Soviet Alliance has grown with one and only country which wanted to join the growing empire - North Korea. It was rather a matter of longer discussions between Moscow and Pyongyang since the first Great War than by USSR expansion, but it must be said that earlier this country had doubts whether to join Soviet Alliance. Rest of countries under Soviet control remained in "conquered" state. Due to the neighbourhood with Allied country North Korea relied on the Iron Curtain project they joined.
The Soviets dropped their precaution down. Premier Romanov started to introduce his plan of merging all of conquered countries into Soviet Union and so he didn't even think that the danger was still real - that there was yet something that can threat Russia. There was - their own foolishness and conceit which Yuri used against themselves. It took only few days for Yuri's forces to seize full control over Soviet Union and Soviet Alliance members.
Yuri's superiority was too big - the Soviets had to evacuate their forces from Moscow and all attacked basements to the safer places. 4-G, base located in the Ural mountains was one of such. Protection of that base and immediate decisions allowed Soviets to quickly create an emergency plan - they moved to Europe and the United States, just after Psychic Dominator was deployed in Moscow and Libya, where Yuri had captured one of biggest Soviet nuclear facilities as well as two missile silos. The silos were later destroyed, but 4-G base fell. Stationing in the United States between the Allies, who were previously under their control, now the Soviets have to fight with them on the one side in order to get their motherland back and protect their own property.
The Soviets secretly decided to activate one of the abandoned Psychic Amplifier in China, which construction has never been completed due to Yuri's betrayal. Control of this massive country would surerly[sic] help them a lot in the battle against Yuri's Epsilon Empire. And yes, whole China was mind-controlled by Soviet forces and even Yuri's intervention didn't prevent Soviets from taking it over. With China as new Soviet country, Soviet technology was seriously enriched and the vision of bringing the glory back to the Mother Russia was brighter than ever.[1]
