The Airfield is an important Soviet structure in the 2.x series which allows them to deploy fighters to provide air support, call in spy planes to reveal the battlefield, and call in cargo planes to paradrop Rhino Tanks. It is called as Airport in version 1.2 with the same appearance.

This building is now succeeded by Soviet Airbase.

Official description[]

v2.x[]

That was a big defiency for Soviet army - years ago, during the first Great War the Soviets had best air armada, but after losing it - the Allied congress decided to put restrictions on Soviet army and forbid them to build any kind of motorised aircrafts. That's why the Soviets had to omit those rules and assault United States with Kirov Airships. Defeating Allies during the second Great War and additionally capturing China, they incorporated airforce project back into their army. Soviet Airfield has four docking pads, just like Allied airport or the one Epsilon has constructed. It allows you to build their MiG fighters, but also enables calls for Spy Planes and cargo planes loaded with tanks aboard. Soviet Airfield is most expensive one, but it's the most functional of all.[1]

v1.2[]

That was big defience, few years ago Soviets had best air armada, but during next war against Allies they even didn't used their Yaks or MiGs. After second failure, so before war against me, they started to project and rebuild their air weaponry. Soviet Airport is place where their MiGs or other aircrafts can land. Soviet Airport has four docking pads like Allied or ours. It allows you to build their fighters, but also enables usage of Spy Plane and drop of Spetznaz team[note 1].[2]
