—A Ramwagon on the offensive |
The Ramwagon is a Foehn stolen tech unit acquired by infiltrating a rogue Foehn Cloud Piercer and Construction Yard.
Essentially a Neutralizer on a vehicle chassis, the Ramwagon's plasma cutters are effective versus enemy structures. It can also hack nearby structures to temporarily disable them, but it cannot use its plasma cutters while the hacking is in effect.
Official description[]
The Ramwagon is a Neutralizer on tracks and more. With two large plasma cutters, the Ramwagon can quickly eliminate enemy infrastructure before they can even react. If any defenses nearby are threatening your forces, a Ramwagon can approach it, and use a blackout pulse to shut them down for several seconds. The same effect can be applied to any other powered structure in its surroundings.
Despite not having a rotating turret, the Ramwagon's unique design and shape allow it to turn almost instantaneously, and its speed gives it everything it needs to quickly rush into an enemy base, shut down or destroy several of their buildings and drive away safely.[1]
Overview[]
“ | There's always a way in! | ” |
—A Ramwagon driver's motto |
The Ramwagon is an immense breakthrough unit in a similar sense to the Megalodon, but with a few more tricks up its sleeve. Not only can it stay out of melee range, it does so with a pair of incredibly powerful plasma cutters that can easily rip through anything on the ground. This includes structures, vehicles, and, to an extent, infantry. No barrier, whether physical or virtual, is impenetrable with a Ramwagon leading the charge.
On the topic of virtual barriers, no firewall is a match for the Ramwagon's special ability: hacking. Activating this ability allows the Ramwagon to disable enemy defenses around it. While unable to attack while hacking, this allows other Foehn units a chance to attack and destroy these defenses. Its strong armor allows it to make the most of this ability, but at the same time, the vehicle is not without its weaknesses. For one, it is comparably ineffective against infantry and so will have to resort to running them over. Its lack of basic anti-air weaponry makes it vulnerable to aerial attacks of any nature, so it will need air support or reinforcement anti-air vehicles to be most effective. This entire overview was made considering the very rare occasion that a Foehn commander is able to infiltrate a Cloud Piercer in the first place, which would necessitate more Clairvoyant spam than it is probably worth.

Behind the scenes[]
- The Ramwagon uses a unique armor type in the game files which was meant to grant it nanoid self-healing similar to Mastodon's. This design was scrapped however, most probably due to balance concerns.
Trivia[]
- The appearance of Ramwagon is inspired by United Coalition Ripper X-4 from Red Alert 3 : Unleashed.[2][3]
- According to one of the Chinese localization translators[4], the vehicle's name is inspired by the real-world Dodge Ram Wagon.
