The Genetic Mutator is a PsiCorps/Epsilon superweapon in version 1.2 and the 2.x series, used to turn any infantry unit into a Brute.
The Genetic Mutator becomes the Rage Inductor in the 3.x series, and its power, Mutation, is succeeded by Geneburst.
Official description[]
v2.x[]
Advanced genetic experiments and lots of mutation trials leaded by Yuri himself allowed to create long ranged Genetic Mutator Device. When it powers up, it's able to create huge shockwave which mutates all humans into Brutes loyal to the Epsilon. The Genetic Mutator cannot mutate animals because of genetic code differences, but it will instantly kill them. No living creature is able to resist aggressive mutation.[1]
v1.2[]
Advanced genetic experiments and lots of mutations, which had place in PsiCorps, allowed to create long ranged Genetic Mutator Device. When it powers up, it's able to create huge shockwave which mutates all humans into loyal PsiCorps Brutes. The Genetic Mutator can't mutate animals because of gene differences, but it will instantly kill them. No living creature is able to resist aggressive mutation![2]
Overview[]
Superweapon | Description |
---|---|
Once fully charged, the Genetic Mutator can create a huge shockwave which mutates all humans in the range into Brutes. |
Unlike its counterpart in Yuri's Revenge, each mutated Brute only gives the player $1 when sent into a Grinder. This is probably to prevent the player from grinding funds by repeatedly turning their own basic infantry into Brutes and recycling them. However, the upside to this is that the Brutes created this way can gain veterancy easily.
Appearances[]
- In Curse, Chrono Storm, Scarlet Twilight, Robot Storm, and The Fall of Adam, the enemy owns a non-critical Genetic Mutator.
- In Rage Against Machine, the Genetic Mutator be casually constructed.
- In The Mental Omega, the enemy has a non-critical Genetic Mutator. The rogue commander can construct a Genetic Mutator of their own, but it will have a cooldown timer of 10:00 instead of the usual 5:00, just like the one owned by the enemy.
