Let's get outta here!
—Phalanx Tank

The Phalanx Tank is a secret stolen unit able to travel across the battlefield instantly, similar to Chrono Legionnaires. It only exists on the version 2.x series and older.

For version 2.0, one requires the infiltration of a Soviet Battle Lab, as well as owning an Allied War Factory, Allied Tech Center, Soviet War Factory and Radar Tower to access this unit.

The prerequisites are simpler for version 1.2, as one requires the infiltration of an Allied Battle Lab, as well as owning an Allied War Factory.

The Phalanx Tank is later succeeded by the Quickshifter in version 3.3. The Quickshifter's missile batteries are named after the Phalanx Tank.

Official description[]

v2.x[]

The Phalanx Tank, along with other stolen tech vehicles, are unlisted on the official website, so it lacks an official description.

v1.2[]

After infiltrating an Allied Tech Center while owning an Allied War Factory, access to Allied secret Phalanx Tanks is granted. Also known as Chrono Tanks, which were recently used during the second Soviet wave in the first Great War. Now partially restored, with a new look and codename. They are still equipped with dual heavy missile launchers, and they can teleport anywhere on battlefield with even better effect than Chrono Legionnaires.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

  • In version 1.2, the Phalanx Tank uses an unused model in Red Alert 2 named "Phal", which is kept as the internal name of the unit. It received minor reskinning in version 2.0.
