The Nanocoat Regulator is a Foehn defense structure that supports nearby structures by hardening the nanomaterials in their construction, increasing their structural integrity.

Official description[]

The nanites can not only be used for structural constructions, but also for strenghtening their armor and making them more resistant to damage. The Nanocoat Regulator can create thin layers of protective coating made from nanofibers and apply it to structures nearby. This will result in these buildings being able to withstand up to 50% more damage than usual before collapsing.

The effect does not overlap, so it is not recommended to build the Nanocoat Regulators close to each other but at strategic positions instead. If the base is on low power, the protective effect wears off.[1]

Overview[]

A rather situational structure, the Nanocoat Regulator addresses the fragility weakness of light buildings (such as the War Factory and technology expanders) and strengthens the formidable defenses (so that they can stand their ground longer and therefore increases their chance of being upgraded). It is only truly beneficial if the Foehn base is expected to be attacked constantly and/or the Foehn commander wishes to minimize losing buildings or defenses. Nonetheless, the Nanocoat Regulator, combined with the Signal Inhibitor, can make a Foehn base near impenetrable (in spite of the amount of money and power needed).

AI behavior[]

Depending on the difficulty, the AI will only build a certain amount of Nanocoat Regulators. Easy AI will build a maximum of 1 Nanocoat Regulator, while Medium and Hard AI will build a maximum of 2.
