Moltencore Challenge is the fifth Challenge map against three pyromaniac Latin Confederation enemies.
Information[]
The paths from the starting area to the enemy bases are lined with Smoke Turrets and Fury Drones and guarded by Syckles, Iron Guards, Flame Towers and Sensor Towers.
Every once in a while, 3 Syckles and 1 Arsonist will go to the vicinity of Tech Oil Derricks outside the challengers' base to harass.
Support power changes/additions:[]
- The Sandstorm from the Smoke Bombs support power has an increased number of runs from 12 to 16, and increased health to 1500.
- Flame Tower uses more lethal white phosphorus weapon, just like in part of Act One missions, support power cooldown decreased to 4:00.
Building changes/additions:[]
- Smoke Turret's rate of fire decreased to 50, attack range increased to 15.
Unit changes/additions:[]
- Borillos, Pyros and Desolators are created as veterans.
- Mortar Quads, Fury Drones, Morales are immune to fire damage.
- Fury Drone's hit points increased to 270, move speed increased to 12.
- Arsonist's charge get its cooldown decreased to 30 seconds.
- Morales has an increased default speed from 7 to 8, and an decreased Rate of Fire from 180 to 50 (both stats are identical to Morales during the mission Thread of Dread).
- The weapons of Morales himself and X-MiGs called by him, Ivan Cadet and Bomb Buggy will leave spreading fire.
- Jaguar Tanks and Mortar Quads fire shells similar to the Catastrophe Tank's, making them more effective against armor and buildings.
- The Ivan Cadet explodes like an elite Crazy Ivan.
- Bomb Buggies will leave similar effect like Mosquito Demoboat when exploded.
- Catastrophe Tanks are created with a Desolator already inside.
- Vulture's napalm drop has been enhanced.

Behind the scenes[]
- In version 3.3.4, the Flame Tower was modified to a support power with summoning 3 Pyros to attack challengers. This was a recycle of a scrapped concept.
Trivia[]
- The challenge's name comes from the World of Warcraft raid dungeon Molten Core, where the players fight against Ragnaros the Firelord. Similarly, this map features Latin Confederation's flame weapons.
- The challenge's map is a modified version of a 6-player standard skirmish map Magmageddon, which originated from a skirmish map Mamageddon from Red Alert 3.
