The Mental Dynamo is a campaign-exclusive structure used by Epsilon Headquarters.
Overview[]
The Mental Dynamo is similar to the campaign-exclusive Iron Curtain Devices, where their only role is granting near-invulnerability to certain structures and units until it is destroyed. However, the Dynamo's barrier is functionally different from the Iron Curtain: instead of applying the Iron Curtain effect, it causes all affected units and buildings to self-repair at an extreme rate, effectively making them invulnerable. As a result, this causes friendly AI-controlled forces to attack protected units and structures in a futile manner, instead of completely ignoring them.
The Mental Dynamo is also more durable than the Iron Curtain: in fact, its hit points is more than a Construction Yard. Several offensive support powers and/or concentrated firepower are required to destroy a Mental Dynamo.
Lorewise, the Mental Dynamo also disrupted the communications of the Epsilon's enemies.
Appearances[]
Act Two[]
- 9 Mental Dynamos appear in Withershins. They are used for protecting Ganzir Defenders and every structure in the core base including the Mental Omega Device. Once the Allies destroy several of them, the Ganzir Defenders in the outer area will lose their barriers and will be destroyed by the ally's Lionheart Bombers. Each Mental Dynamo will drop a money crate when destroyed.
- The final Mental Dynamo appears in the first phase of Hamartia, deep in the underground. A permanent barrier surrounds itself, so only Siegfried can destroy it with his long-range attack. Once the final Mental Dynamo is destroyed, the core base will become vulnerable to attack. The destruction also caused the Allies to not only establish communications with their nearby support bases, but also receive distress signals coming from Alaska.
