History[]
Origins[]
The Last Bastion's origins may trace to the fortress of Point Hope in Alaska, where the beginnings of the Foehn Revolt made their final stand against the Epsilon forces and the global mind control of the Mental Omega Device.
Prior to this, the Revolt attempted to escape the Mental Omega's influence by stealing an Epsilon rocket and escape into space. However, the Epsilon forces demolished the spaceport to prevent it falling to Foehn's hands, forcing the Revolt to flee to the "second furthest point" from the Mental Omega, Point Hope, in an attempt to distance themselves from the Device's psychic emanations [2].
After rescuing the American forces in Point Hope from Epsilon's mind control, the Revolt contacted the Paradox Engine expedition, who then chronoshifted the wreckage of the Engine to Point Hope, after the Allies' crushing defeat in Antarctica. By restoring the Engine's time circuits, the Revolt was able to project a time bubble around Point Hope, isolating the fortress from the effects of the Mental Omega.
Within the safety of the time bubble, the Revolt was able to make rapid technological advancements and build a resistance force to one day liberate the world from the Epsilon.
The name "Last Bastion" may refer to the fact that after the activation of the Mental Omega Device, Point Hope was the last remaining stronghold in the world that had not fallen to Epsilon mind control.
Technology[]
Prototypes of the Gharial and the Mastodon have already existed during the Mental Omega War, as seen from their appearances during the battles between Soviet, Epsilon and Chinese forces in Kashmir.
The sub-faction's name "Last Bastion" might refer to Point Hope being the last stronghold in the world, free from the Mental Omega Device's global mind control
