Gates are a barrier meant to block enemy troops from passing through while allowing friendly troops from entering, and is usually coupled with walls as an effective defense. While Gates have been part of the Allied arsenal since version 2.0a, they weren't added for the Soviets and Epsilons until version 2.0psi-P2.

Gates have two variants; one that faces horizontally (east/west) and one that faces vertically (north/south).

The Allies, Soviets, and Epsilons use different models of gates, although their stats are the same.

Official description[]

Allied[]

The Gates are perfect basic protection against enemy units, as unlike walls, they don't allow enemy to come through them but it's owners can easily pass through. Gates are most useful in protecting Allied factories and barracks from enemy spies, stating out that Yuri's Epsilon has now best infiltrating methods. Also, unlike Concrete Walls, the Gates cannot be crushed by huge units.[1]

Soviet[]

Soviet gates are used to limit entry into their bases. Only their allies can pass through them and somehow magically all spies, even in disguise are not to be allowed through. Just like Allied gates, Soviet ones can be built-on their wall sections.[2]

Epsilon[]

Yuri has gates too! He invented them to prevent any traitors or thieves of his stealth technology from sudden assaults on his property. Although same as Soviet or Allied walls in function, Epsilon somehow can't build own gates on their Citadel walls. Those must be sold first before this gate is placed (Yuri's Revenge engine bug, gates were not planned to be used in it like they were in Tiberian Sun).[3]
