Freedom Challenge is the first Challenge map that pits the player(s) against three United States armies. In this challenge, the enemy makes heavy use of Airborne forces and Mercury Strikes to catch players off-guard and overwhelm them.
Information[]
The enemy's main method of attack is to constantly drop down infantry and vehicles right at the players' bases, even in the beginning. All 3 enemy bases start with a captured Tech Airfield and an Air Force Command Headquarters upgraded with a Drop Control addon. That means, the cargo planes' numbers also increase as the challenge keeps going, with whole squads of cargo planes heading out and dropping down surprise assault forces to an unobservant player(s).
The enemy is able to train the Hollywood actors Sammy Stallion, Flint Westwood and Arnie Frankenfurter. All 3 have a reduced health of 200, rather than 1000.
Large amount of Kingsnake portals are scattered on the map; Each enemy AI will use constant Stratofortress against the challengers.
Support power changes/additions:[]
- The Airborne support power paradrops 5 GIs, 3 Guardian GIs, 2 Siege Cadres and 1 Navy SEAL. However, cooldown is increased from 4 to 6 minutes.
- The Bloodhounds support power paradrops 2 Stryker IFVs, 2 Robot Tanks, and 2 Bulldog Tanks (one of which use the target painter mode). However, cooldown is increased from 5 minutes to 7 minutes and 30 seconds.
- Drop Control additionally provides Stratofortress support power to enemy only;
- The Mercury Strike no longer buffs nearby Athena Cannons.
- The Target Painter's cooldown is reduced significantly from 4 minutes and 30 seconds to 48 seconds. Only the enemy can use it.
Unit changes/additions:[]
- Kingsnake's guard range decreased from 20 to 16;
- The Athena Cannon's damage is increased from 165 to 220, roughly a 25% firepower buff compared to the Mercury Strike firepower buff of 25%. The Mercury Strike effect is only for aesthetic purposes.
