The Deviatress is the upgraded version of the Huntress created when one is infused by a Nanofiber Sync. Trading their nanoid gun and hijacking ability for better armor and a confusion rifle, they can break enemy formations by causing ground and air units alike to become unable to differentiate friend or foe, and attacks each other in confusion.

Official description[]

After a Nanofiber Sync process, the Huntress loses her speed but gains armor and an entirely new purpose on the battlefield. The nanites in her container are used up to form a portable version of the weapon used by the Irritators and Angelsharks: an advanced confusion ray.

Compared to the types of confusion ray used by the other two units, this version is precise - Deviatress can only affect one enemy unit at a time, as her rifle does not have an area of effect. She makes up for it with the weapon's long range and an enhanced targeting capability, which allows her to even target any enemy aircraft, including the mighty Kirov Airship. This weapon comes at a price - the Deviatress has no other weapons to defend herself, and does not have the ability to steal vehicles like her original form.[1]

Overview[]

As the agency said, she is a powerful auxiliary unit and can be mixed in the air defense forces to a certain extent.

In actual combat, try to make them into a single team, and let them confuse the most threatening enemies by manual operation. At the same time, you don't have to worry about the attack of Attack dogs, but you should still be careful of Terror drone and Chitzkoi.

Don't forget to retrain some Huntress or don't infused all Huntress (except WC). You still need them to carry out anti-disguise work.

Assessment[]

Pros Cons
  • Can confuse ground and air units.
  • Quite durable.
  • Decent range.
  • Immune to Dogs and Spooks.
  • Cannot be affected by confusion rays.
  • Confusion weaponry is the single most effective battlefield effect in the game since only Hero and Epic unit are able to resist them (even drones are prone to malfunction and stop following orders).
  • Requires Nanofiber Sync to upgrade.
  • Weak against anti-infantry weapons.
  • Cannot target structures.
  • Cannot deal damage to enemies.
  • Vulnerable to magnetic weapons.
  • Very micromanagement-intensive.

Trivia[]

  • The Deviatress is visually based off the Zone Raider from Tiberian Twilight.
  • Gameplay-wise, the Deviatress spiritually succeeded the Epsilon Dream Weaver from version 3.0.
  • So far, Deviatress is the only infantry who will play independent voiceovers when being given order to guard or enter the Grinder.
