Aaaaah-kakakakaka!!!!
—A Demolition Truck driver seconds before a loud bang is heard

The Demolition Truck is a suicide unit carrying a powerful B.O.O.M. warhead used by Soviet factions except the Latin Confederation, which uses the faster but more fragile Bomb Buggy instead.

Official description[]

Demolition Trucks are a simple but lethal weapon, utilized by the Soviets since the days of the Second World War. In the aftermath of the war, the Soviets were forced to dismantle their entire nuclear arsenal. Nuclear warfare has been strictly moderated by the Allied Nations ever since.

However, the restrictions the Allied Nations had laid down proved to be futile once the Third World War broke out as the communist war machine began producing nuclear weapons on a large scale. Due to the rather exorbitant price tag that came with building, arming, and maintaining of nuclear missile silos, the Soviet countries decided to reproduce and load smaller versions of the warheads used years before in their M.A.D. Tank onto large trucks as a cheaper alternative.

With the safety off, the trucks are a staple of ambushes, being able to rush past enemy defenses and detonate their payload where it hurts the most. The warhead isn't too effective against enemy infantry so it's something the trucks should avoid. Commanders are to handle the vehicles with great care, as the trucks themselves are rather fragile and could be easily destroyed before reaching their target.[1]

The Demolition Truck is a special suicide unit which can be used to take out key enemy structures. It is particularly effective against large, fragile structures such as War Factories and Airbases.

Although the Bomb Buggy has a faster speed than the Demolition Truck, its weak armor often causes multiple attacks to fail. Having the heavier armor of the two, the Demolition Truck has a better chance of making it closer to its target, even if it is charging into more heavily-defended enemy positions.

Demolition Truck is not suitable for destroying a large number of enemy units, as it is specifically used to destroy buildings. In addition, using Invulnerability for them to rush to enemy bases is also a common and effective tactic. For this reason, Demolition Trucks are best deployed as an element of surprise.

As with Bomb Buggies, be careful not to keep Demolition Trucks too close to friendly troops or structures (especially other Bomb Buggies or Demolition Trucks as they can start a chain reaction, although they have resistance to this explosion).

AI behavior[]

Demolition Trucks controlled by the AI have the following attack patterns:

All difficulties[]

  • 1x targeting production structures
    • The AI may use Invulnerability on this task force
    • If available, Shadow Ring will also be applied

Appearances[]

The Demolition Truck will lay waste to enemy armored forces and fortifications alike.
