“ | This is Boris, the hero of the Motherland. He uses a powerful machine gun and has an authority to call in airstrikes on enemy positions. He will assist you. | ” |
—Soviet intel during Operation: Bleed Red |
Boris (Russian: Борис, Boris) was a field commander, elite commando and hero of Russia.
Special Ops[]
- Boris appears alongside Morales in Archetype to infiltrate a disused allied Tech Center in Ukraine and recover the bodies of Volkov and Chitzkoi as the Allies are withdrawing. Once the Tech Center is found, the bodies will be loaded into a Kamaz truck, which must be driven to an evacuation point by Morales while Boris escorts it. In this mission, neither Boris nor Morales can attack buildings with MiGs, as the Soviet air force has been dismantled following their loss at the Second Great War. Both heroes must survive throughout the mission.
Act One[]
- In Bleed Red, Boris is dispatched to New York City to assist in the city's takeover. Boris is successful but is unfortunately killed in action. If Boris survives long enough, he will die in a poisonous gas explosion similar to that of a Virus' shot. In the briefing of Exist to Exit, it is revealed that Boris was poisoned by Yuri before the Soviet invasion of the US.
Act Two[]
- Boris' body was taken by Yuri after the N.Y.C. operation and had been rebuilt as Space Commando, for Libra as her practice object on the moon, until Libra is transferred to Earth. Soviet intel, debriefing to the Soviet General during the moon operation, noted that the Space Commando's voice is surprisingly familiar and has a match in their database. It is later revealed that Yuri had taken the remains of a Soviet hero that had fallen during the Third Great War and attempted to replicate the technologies used to create Volkov not to raise an army of cyborgs loyal to Epsilon, but rather experiment with psychokinetic powers to overcome the advantages of mind control immunity that cybernetic organisms possess. Yuri's newly found skill was demonstrated shortly after the Soviets saturated the outer perimeters of Moscow with orbital strikes as he himself personally took control of Volkov and forced him to serve the Epsilon Army.
Trivia[]
- After his death in Act One, a statue of him was erected in Moscow, Russia which appears in the Epsilon Act Two mission The Conqueror.
